The Studio in Images
At Hankins Studio we take a different approach to the creative process. We want the artist to come in, trust the journey and let go. We don't force anything — it's more of an invitation for everything to unfold naturally, so we can reach a result we're both proud of. I always say it: you will never leave here with something you don't love. For me, it's essential that what you take from this studio truly represents you — that you can say: this is exactly what we wanted.
Located in Benifaraig, a small village just outside Valencia, Hankins Studio enjoys a tranquility and views that threaten to take your breath away the moment you arrive.
The magic of this place is no accident. A musician appreciates the stillness that opens the door to inspiration during the creative process. We know this, which is why we surrounded ourselves with a spectacular orchard sheltering a house with history.
With a loft ceiling and a fireplace, the building with its irregular lime-washed walls dates from the early twentieth century and originally served as a tobacco drying house. The renovations have flooded the studio with natural light — on a clear day you can make out the City of Arts and Sciences and the Valencia skyline.

I am a music producer specialising in acoustic genres, with a career in the industry dating back to 2009. Over these fifteen-plus years, my purpose has been to help artists of very different styles and stages find their sonic identity, transforming their demo into a product with warmth and technical quality ready for distribution. Behind Hankins Studio there are no impersonal structures or intermediaries: I get deeply and artisanally involved in every project, which means artists work directly with me from the first call to the final master.
This studio experience is complemented by a constant connection with the industry and education. I am an active member of the Latin Recording Academy (Latin Grammy), which links me to the highest standards of the Spanish-language music market and keeps me in permanent contact with its trends and references. I currently combine production with the musical direction of Rei Ortolá's live project and with teaching, sharing my vision of the industry as an Associate Professor at CEU Cardinal Herrera University. The Story Behind the Name
The Hankins Studio logotype is drawn from the portrait of J. Hankins (1907–2000), a Royal Air Force pilot and Alex's grandfather. As a member of the British Air Force, he took part in various missions during the Second World War. A tribute to the man who inspired the name.
We have agreements with several equipment rental companies. If you need specific gear for your recording, contact us and we'll get it sorted. Reach out in advance so we can have everything ready for your booked dates.
We listen to the musician: what material they have, what they want to achieve, what they want to convey. We work on harmonies, melody, rhythm, motif and form. We define style, production process, gear, timeline and budget.
We focus on the music, try out instruments and bring everything imagined to life. The connection and communication with the artist must flow. We make available high-end equipment: processors, synthesizers, microphones, consoles and unique or vintage pieces that add something special.
We edit, mix and master to optimise the quality of what's been recorded. In many cases this process runs in parallel with production. The final result is optimised for all distribution platforms.
